Guindy Children’s park And Snake parks
Guindy Snake Park is located on Sardar Patel road in Guindy near Chennai. This is one of the eco friendly and environment friendly biological parks that attract many tourists. It is the smallest of the national parks in India. As soon as you enter the guindy national park,you find a few toy’s shop,icecream shops ,cool drinks shop and a small snacks shop. It is a sanctuary to the endangered Black Bucks ,Spotted Deer. Mongoose, Jackals, Monkeys, reptiles and birds also live there. There are about 24 species of trees are grown here in the park and maintained.It houses a variety of rare reptiles, different species, including deadly king cobras, vipers, pythons, adders, kraits, adders, giant turtles and monitor lizards. There is a Children’s Park nearby, which is well maintained, with varied collections of animals and birds. The park is open for all age groups.
Yercaud
Yercaud is famous for oranges and coffee plantations and it has preserved some of the forests in original condition with several resident species of flora and fauna. Yercaud is a hill station located on the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats in the northern part of Tamil Nadu and experiences very enjoyable climate.
Due to its outstanding picturesque scenic beauty and greenery, Yercaud is gaining attractiveness as a favorite tourist spot among locals as well as foreigners. The forest areas of Yercaud are abundant with teak, sandal wood and silver oaks. There are also many trekking spots available in and around Yercaud.
Crocodile Bank
The Crocodile Bank is situated some 42 kilometres from the Chennai city. The Crocodile Bank was established in the year 1976 by a known environmentalist Romulus Whitaker. The park area is spread over 3.2 hectares of land, with the area enclosed by continues border. Now it is famous for the the captive breeding of various Indian and African crocodile species. The park area consists of pools and swamp which resemble with the natural habitat of these species.
